For this week’s Sunday School lesson, we’ve included everything you need to teach. Sunday School Lesson “Jesus Heals the Man Born Blind” from John 9:1-42 These Sunday School Lessons are based on the passage in John 9 where Jesus heals the man born blind.Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” John 11:38-44 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”Ĥ3 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. “But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”Ĥ0 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”Ĥ1 So they took away the stone. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance. John 11:38-44 (NIV)Jesus Raises Lazarus From the Deadģ8 Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. When we choose to believe that Jesus is God and that He saves us from sin, then we can have eternal life, even if we died on Earth.Even though we don’t always understand your ways What can we learn from Jesus and Lazarus? Jesus said that HE was the Resurrection and the Life. And when bad things happen we need to ask the hard question: How will God glorify Himself in this situation? And when God is glorified, people then believe. Jesus stayed on that cross because He loves you. But Jesus said that the death of His friend happened so that glory would be given to God. Sometimes we have a hard time believing in Jesus. And then there were the others who went to the Pharisees. He is BEYOND what is natural in our eyes.Īfter Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, many people believed that Jesus was the Son of God. He could have gone **POOF** and disappeared whenever He wanted. Not only does Jesus control who lives and died, but He controlled whether or not HE lived or died. Jesus showed people that He controlled life and death. In this event, Jesus raised someone from the dead. The more we learn, the more we realize there is more TO learn. But the truth is, there is no way we can EVER know enough about God. People, you, me, scientists, like to think they have God all figured out. The more we learn, the more we understand this experiment. It’s even more interesting once you figure out WHY the colors move. Watching the colors swirl and move is really neat to watch. How did the people react after Lazarus came from the tomb?.How do you know that Jesus was emotionally attached to this family?.What did Martha think when Jesus said, “Your brother will rise again?”.Why was Jesus glad He was not there with Lazarus?.Did Jesus know what happened to Lazarus before he arrived?. Why did Jesus not go right away when he heard about his friend?.And whenever you study some aspect of science, you are learning about the creativity of God and one small way He is revealing Himself. The study of science is really a study of God. The world around us is amazing, unusual, organized, creative….and God made it all! Even the disciples were quick to ask for Jesus to explain what He had taught. Jesus started preaching and teaching the people about heaven, the Father, and how to live. The multitudes would come from miles around to have Him heal the sick and diseased.
